Mercy Housing is a national not-for-profit organization sponsored by congregations of Catholic women to address housing problems of the poor.

The Mercy Housing Approach

Mercy Housing is responding to the nation's housing crisis through the development of quality housing, the preservation of existing housing stock, sound management of properties and the provision of on-site services and programs to residents.

We strive to create Stable Neighborhoods and Build Healthy Communities by collaborating with local not-for-profit organizations, government agencies, health care providers and private businesses to develop community-based approaches to address neighborhood needs.

We develop Community and Resident Initiatives such as goal setting, career planning and vocational and academic education that support residents in their efforts to become economically self-sufficient. Through these initiatives, residents can increase their education, acquire the skills to gain more disposable income and become active participants in civic events, activities and concerns.

We devise innovative Public-Private Partnerships with banks and local governments to finance and build affordable housing communities.

Mercy Housing Strengthens Families by creating a supportive community where children thrive and families flourish.

Mission Statement

To create and strengthen healthy communities through the provision of quality, affordable, service-enriched housing for individuals and families who are economically poor.
